  • California Capitol Day 2025

    The goal of Capitol Day is to provide information about private home education to our California state legislators and their staff in a friendly, professional manner. This also allows legislators and their staff the opportunity to visit with real homeschool families. Capitol Day volunteers will visit each of the 120 legislators’ Capitol offices, providing each office with an information packet about private homeschooling. These packets help explain private home education as well as provide research showing that privately home-educated children do very well compared with students from the public schools.

  • 2025 Homeschool Idaho Legislative Day

    Idaho State Capitol

    For over 30 years, Idaho homeschool families have visited the Idaho capitol to highlight to our elected officials the many advantages of a private home education. We serve homemade pie while our legislators tour a wide variety of  student displays and listen to our talented musicians. This event is sponsored by Homeschool Idaho, but we could not do it without the help of families just like yours.

    Celebrate the freedom to homeschool with families from across the state! Homeschoolers from across Arizona gather to meet and thank our legislators for the work that they do for our communities throughout the year. Through the years, this event has led to countless coalitions being built with members of our government that share our vision and has softened many who had been previously opposed to our style of education. Homeschool Day at the Capitol has developed into a half day of learning and activities, while still achieving our goals of exposure to and gratitude for our public servants. Save the date. Homeschooling families from all over Indiana will be gathering at the Capitol for a day of learning, meeting new friends, speakers, and activities. It’s great for you, and it’s great for our legislators. Homeschool freedom matters and joining us at the Capitol is a great way to show your support for homeschool freedom.

    Make sure to join us at noon to hear from legislators and our IAHE Action team.

    This can be a great educational field trip day with hands-on learning and a chance to build meaningful connections with legislators and homeschoolers from all across the state. We can’t wait to see you there!

    Capitol Day 2026

    Organized by Family Protection Ministries in partnership with CHEA of California, the goal of Capitol Day is to provide information about private home education to our California state legislators and their staff in a friendly, professional manner. This also allows legislators and their staff the opportunity to visit with real homeschool families.

    After training sessions in the morning, you will have the opportunity to break into small groups so we can visit each of the 120 legislators’ Capitol offices, providing each office with an information packet about private homeschooling. We will then have lunch and hear from some inspirational speakers on the Capitol steps.

    Apply online today to participate. Applicants that are approved will receive a link to the registration page. Event registration must be completed by January 7, 2026.

    A chance to meet your lawmakers and other homeschoolers.
    A field trip to introduce your children to the legislative process.
    An opportunity to show decision-makers how normal homeschooling and homeschoolers really are.
