Bring your family and learn about the legislative process, meet other like-minded families, and have fun in the process. This will be an awesome opportunity to meet your state representatives so they can understand the needs of homeschooling families and how we are raising the next generation of leaders in Louisiana. Highlights of the day include:
- Symposium – Topics include: Legislative Training, Education in Louisiana, and Advocacy Training
- Capitol Tour – Discover the history of our beautiful capitol, visit the observation deck and grab a souvenir at the “Shop at the Top”
- Meet Legislators – Get to know your legislators. Homeschool Families make up 5% of the school age population in LA – your legislators need to know you and hear your opinion on prospective bills that affect our families.
- Old State Capitol Tour – The Old State Capitol is open until 4pm and free to the public. This historic building has been restored to her former beauty and is a must see while you are in Baton Rouge. The self guided tour takes about 30 minutes – be sure to get some pictures on the front lawn on the steps.
- Keynote Speaker – Zan Tyler, inspirational speaker, author, podcaster, and longtime advocate for homeschool freedom.
