GHEA mobilizes the Georgia homeschool community to visit the Georgia Capitol in Atlanta during the legislative session for a full day of fun and educational activities.

Homeschool families are encouraged to meet with their legislators to thank them and their staff for the important work they do. GHEA provides educational activities such as classes, tours, speakers, and more.

2024 Maryland Homeschool Day at the Capitol

Join us at the Statehouse for a field trip day! An unforgettable day of activities and learning experiences for all ages awaits you. Hundreds of homeschooling families will be gathering at the Capitol for a day of learning, meeting new friends, speakers, and activities. It’s great for you, and it’s great for our legislators. Homeschool freedom matters and joining us at the Capitol is a great way to show your support for homeschool freedom. Make sure to join us at noon to hear from legislators, our IAHE Action team, and other speakers. This can be a great educational field trip day with hands-on learning and a chance to build meaningful connections with legislators and homeschoolers from all across the state. We can’t wait to see you there!

2025 Hawaii Capitol Day

All Hawaii homeschool families are welcome to participate in the 2025 Hawaii Homeschool Capitol Day. This is a wonderful opportunity to gather together to support homeschool freedom and meet your state senators and representatives.

California Capitol Day 2025

The goal of Capitol Day is to provide information about private home education to our California state legislators and their staff in a friendly, professional manner. This also allows legislators and their staff the opportunity to visit with real homeschool families. Capitol Day volunteers will visit each of the 120 legislators’ Capitol offices, providing each office with an information packet about private homeschooling. These packets help explain private home education as well as provide research showing that privately home-educated children do very well compared with students from the public schools.

2025 CAPE-NM @ the Capitol

CAPE at the Capitol is homeschool day in Santa Fe, celebrating the Governor’s annual official proclamation of Home Education Week in New Mexico. CAPE-NM at the Capitol is an event that builds and maintains the foundations that keeps homeschooling free in New Mexico; a morning in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico, the oldest capital city in the United States; a chance to meet your lawmakers and other homeschoolers; a field trip to introduce your children to the legislative process; and an opportunity to show decision-makers how normal homeschooling and homeschoolers really are.
