Illinois Christian Home Educators (ICHE) is a not-for-profit Christian organization composed of families dedicated to the success of home education in Illinois. ICHE was started in December 1983 by four Christian families seeking the support and fellowship of like-minded home educators.

At ICHE, our decades-long commitment to nurturing the homeschooling community in Illinois is rooted in the belief that parents have the freedom and legal right to educate their children at home, and we invite you to explore the resources, events, and support we offer to enrich this journey, fostering a vibrant and successful homeschooling experience for every family.

  • EQUIPPED for Every Good Work! The Conference for Young Adults

    Young adults, join us for a day of teaching and fun! Morning coffee bar, challenging teaching, great food, friends, games, volleyball, and more. 

    All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.  II Timothy 3:16-17

  • Coffee Talk with Sarah Collins Hosted by ICHE

    This virtual session explores how occupational therapy principles can help homeschool families better understand and respond to their children’s sensory and emotional needs. Through the framework of Noticing Needs, Talking About Needs, and Building Support, participants will learn practical ways to use declarative language, foster regulation, and create environments that promote connection and growth. Grounded in the mission of HomeschoolOT, this course empowers parents to move from managing behaviors to nurturing lifelong self-regulation and confidence.
