Kansas homeschool families are invited to join us at the Capitol for the annual Homeschool Capitol Day on Thursday, Feb. 6, beginning at 10 a.m. Building a positive relationship with our state legislators will help keep homeschools thriving in Kansas. Meeting up for Homeschool Capitol Day provides the encouraging presence of other homeschool families as well as many firsthand educational experiences!
For over 30 years, Idaho homeschool families have visited the Idaho capitol to highlight to our elected officials the many advantages of a private home education. We serve homemade pie while our legislators tour a wide variety of student displays and listen to our talented musicians. This event is sponsored by Homeschool Idaho, but we could not do it without the help of families just like yours.
Celebrate the freedom to homeschool with families from across the state! Homeschoolers from across Arizona gather to meet and thank our legislators for the work that they do for our communities throughout the year. Through the years, this event has led to countless coalitions being built with members of our government that share our vision and has softened many who had been previously opposed to our style of education. Homeschool Day at the Capitol has developed into a half day of learning and activities, while still achieving our goals of exposure to and gratitude for our public servants. Save the date. One of the ways we fulfill this purpose is through our Legislative Day, giving home educators from across the state an opportunity to share their own experiences and convictions with their elected officials in Albany. This year, there are already two bills we are working hard to advance!
The Texas HomeSchool Convention exists to provide a family-focused and faith-based experience, centered around a holistic, biblical view of family dynamics and homeschooling.
Organized by Family Protection Ministries in partnership with CHEA of California, the goal of Capitol Day is to provide information about private home education to our California state legislators and their staff in a friendly, professional manner. This also allows legislators and their staff the opportunity to visit with real homeschool families.
After training sessions in the morning, you will have the opportunity to break into small groups so we can visit each of the 120 legislators’ Capitol offices, providing each office with an information packet about private homeschooling. We will then have lunch and hear from some inspirational speakers on the Capitol steps.
